BY-LAWS
Amended 1/29/97
By-Laws may be amended, added or deleted
by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
1. FUNDING
A. Tournaments
1. Tournaments shall be tentatively funded by majority vote of the Board of
Directors.
2. Tentative funding shall be based on projected annual income from member
dues.
3. Revisions in funding will
be accomplished by majority vote of the Board of
Directors.
4. The tournament Chairman will submit, by the December
Board meeting, a
proposed list of tournaments for the following year.
B. ACORN ECHO
1.
The Board of Directors shall, by majority vote, determine the frequency
and funding for the Acom Echo at the January
Board meeting.
C. SOCIAL EVENTS
1. AU proposed funding for social events will be submitted
to the Board of
Directors and voted upon as needed.
2. JUNIOR PARTICIPATION
A. Tournaments
1. Juniors may participate in the Club Championship in their respective
handicap
divisions. Juniors may not receive monetary awards (merchandise
or money on the books) but may receive trophies denoting
their
accomplishments in said events.
2. Juniors may not play in any tournaments other than the Club
Championship.
B. Social Events
1. Juniors may participate in social events provided the event does not take
place
in a locale that is off limits to minors.
C.
1. Juniors may relinquish their junior status
by paying full membership dues
and submitting (in writing with parental consent) a waiver of their right to
participate
in Junior events. Notice will be given by the MPMC to the TGA
and to appropriate school districts that the member is
no longer eligible as
a junior.
3. COMMITTEES
A.
Types
1. At a minimum, there will be the following committees
a. TOURNAMENT
b. RULES
c.
HANDICAP
d. MEMBERSHIP
e. SOCIAL
B. Chairman
1. Committee chairman shall
submit all proposals to the Board for approval.
4. DUES
A. Dues must be paid prior
to March 1 of the current year to be considered current.
B. Dues must be current to participate in any club event.
C. For new members joining after October 1 of the current year dues will be 50 of
the annual dues in effect at that
time.
D. Membership dues will be waived for all members 80 years of age and older with at
least five continuous
years of membership at Meadowpark immediately prior to
waiver of such dues.
E. Any member who is physically unable
to play golf, but wishes to remain a member,
may be given an honorary membership to the club and may participate in any
and
all social events.
5. ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVES
A. Representatives will be appointed,
as needed, by the President and approved by
majority vote of the Board of Directors to the TGA, PNGA, WWGA, and
Metropolitan
Park Board Advisory Council etc..
6. CONDUCTING OF MEETINGS
A. All meetings will
be conducted by the President or his authorized representative in
a manner which will uphold order and accomplish the
goal(s) of the meeting.
B. All matters will be discussed and voted upon in an orderly fashion.

TOURNAMENTS
A. Qualifications
1. Entrants must be current members of MPMC
2. Entrants must
have a valid GHIN handicap.
3. Participants in the Club Championship and Senior Club Championship must
also have
gone through at least two (2) revision periods as a member of
MPMC with at least ten (10) posted scores from the Championship
Course at Meadowpark Golf Course since the previous Championship.
4. Entrants must meet the age requirements of the tournament.
a. 18 for all tournaments except Club Championship and Senior events
b. 50 for Senior events
B.
Divisions
1. All tournaments (except social and scrambles_ shall be divided into
handicap divisions
based upon number of entries by the Tournament
Chairman.
C. Prizes
1. Prizes will
be awarded based upon 1 prize for each 3 entrants and will be
determined by the number of entrants in each division.
2. At least one prize will be awarded in each division for low gross and low
net in individual stroke play and two
man best ball competitions.

JUNIOR PARTICIPATION
Change to read:
Any person who is under the age of 18 (eighteen) years, with parental
consent,
may pay the full membership dues and be considered a fall
member of the Meadowpark Men's Club. That person may then
participate in any and all events conducted by the Men's Club, including
choose-ups; It will be the parent's
responsibility to determine whether or
not the status of that individual will be affected should the individual win
prize money over the maximums allowed by respective amateur authorities
to retain Junior status for school scholarships,
junior USGA events, etc..
The Meadowpark Men's Club assumes no responsibility for limiting the
type and amounts
of prizes won by the individual. Should the parent of
the individual wish to limit the amount or type of prizes won,
notification
must be given to the Tournament Chairman and the Secretary, in writing,
who will then place a monetary
limit on the funds or prizes distributed to
that individual. A copy of the limitation will be kept on file with the
Secretary. Should a question arise from any governing agency, all
available information will be passed along to the
requesting agency.
ADDITION TO BY LAWS
Hall of Fame
1. Nominations for entry
into the Hall of Fame should be submitted
to the Board of Directors and should include the reasons that the
nominee
should be voted as a member.
2. The Board of Directors shall vote on each candidate submitted.
Those selected by
the Board shall be awarded lifetime membership
in the Men's Club and given a permanent membership card. The
individual's
name shall be placed on the permanent placque.
3. This award should be presented at the Christmas party in the year
of induction.
